Overview and key themes for October 2012 Horoscopes
The on-going challenges from a series of tense connections between Uranus and Pluto between 2012 and 2015 continue to serve as a background to our monthly forecasts. The second (five in total) challenging aspect between these two planets, occurred on the 19th of last month persisting with sudden and transformative events and change on global and individual levels.

While this influence revolutionises structures, organisations, authorities, politics and individuals, its effect has been and will continue to be unpredictable, erratic, shocking and even brutal. The outcome of this planetary cycle is to destroy and transform existing structures and patterns and individuals’ unhealthy behavioural patterns. This is a planetary course of action to rebalance the abuse of wealth and power, autocracy and dictatorship, the individual suppressed by the corporation, for new and positive beginnings.

The Lunar (or Moon’s Nodes) sign changed last month into Scorpio/Taurus for approximately 18.6 months, and Saturn’s entry into Scorpio on the 6th October for two years, further underpin and highlight this process and focuses our direction over the next two year period.

Jupiter in Gemini turns retrograde on the 5th for a four month period, which can thwart our rational thinking and ability to make decisions, with regard to a broader view. This is an opportunity to really use your inner faith and awareness to guide you for a better perspective on life, rather than simply relying upon your mental capacity. That is the purpose of this transit.

October sees many sign changes, Sun enters Scorpio on 23rd, Mercury enters Scorpio on 5th then Sagittarius on 29th, Venus enters Virgo on 3rd, Mars enters Sagittarius on 7th, and Saturn enters Scorpio on 6th. These signs involve mainly fixed water and mutable fire energies, which will either create a steamy combination or water will douse fire.

Fixed water can provide emotional stability to mutable fire’s instinctual and varied responses, and help fire to acclimatise towards a more compassionate and nurturing expression. Meanwhile mutable fire can ignite fixed water out of its calm, languid and connected state so that it becomes more adaptable, vital and enthusiastic. These are the positive expressions and this month is about finding an appropriate balance between the differing modes of expression and energy with all the changes taking place.

The most significant sign change in October is with Saturn’s entry into Scorpio on the 6th where it will remain until 2015 (an article will follow in the near future). While he was in Libra for 3 years his objective was to teach us about fairness, responsibility and the art of give and take within our relationships. If necessary he removed or reconfigured what was superfluous or flimsy in order to re-balance interaction and relating within healthy boundaries and structures.

Saturn in Scorpio will contract and re-construct by means of testing the validity of the merging and sharing of assets, be they financial, physical or emotional, concerning individuals and corporations, in a bid to preserve resources. Anything that proves to be unnecessary will be removed, which will be painful but beneficial long term. Meanwhile on an emotional level, passions will be strong and Saturn will focus us on controlling our deep, powerful feelings through the releasing and sharing of our inner lives within healthy boundaries.

The signs of the New and Full Moon this month are both ruled by Venus, which signifies an emotional focus on relationships and values, our appreciation of the world around us and how we get pleasure out of life. The New Moon in Libra on the 15th should encourage a review of relationship dynamics and a subsequent refining and balancing of these. Generally, all relationships both existing and those newly initiated should fare well during the next couple of weeks.

The New Moon will also support sociable and harmonious events, but it also carries the potential of over indulgence and extravagance due to Jupiter retrograde (as of 5th October), so increasing your number of friends and acquaintances is fine, but too many late nights, booze and food may not be a good idea during the following two weeks. Although, Jupiter retrograde will bring a period of introspection on morality, justice and ethics, which will infuse the New Moon.

Meanwhile the Full Moon in Taurus on the 29th will be concerned with slowing down and not making any major changes. This Full Moon carries the weight of obligations within partnerships but there is a supportive energy available to follow through with tasks.

I hope you enjoy your October forecast!

Lorna has put together a high octane, featured pack horoscope this month that gives us a multi dimensional perspective on the stars and its influence on society.Figuratively, you can almost feel the words…about to burst out of the page that confines it.

Like her previous months work, the analysis put into the horoscope is very in depth, pacey and always makes interesting reading.

As a a lay person in this subject,I have to read it a few times, but then the message comes over perfectly clear, and as relaxed as a bird landing on a nest.

One paragraph in particular from her piece stood out for me:

“…This is an opportunity to really use your inner faith and awareness to guide you for a better perspective on life, rather than simply relying upon your mental capacity….”

I really identify with this prognosis, metaphysical and abstract. We need to use at least our intuition or a razor edged 6th sense to circumnavigate the predicament society faces….deep seated issues are all out there.

As always….Lorna possesses tireless energy in her pursuit of this discipline.I find her work to be ‘exquisitely researched and tactfully communicated’ and everyone can get some inspiration from now and again.
